You're invited to one of America's most venerable Track and Field venues -
the Modesto JC stadium: home of 32 world records, for the 1999 edition of
the PA-USATF Open Men's and Women's Championships to be held the evening of
Saturday, 29 May
Facilities: Fast nine lane polyurethane track with all-weather steeple
approach and return. 1/4 inch spike required. Accutrac timing for all races.
The throwing rings are bushed concrete,while thejavelin runway is manicured
grass.
Eligibility: All competitors must be a registered USATF Athlete. Only
collegiate athletes who compete for their institutions and are registered
by their coaches are not required to be USATF members. USATF membership
card are available for $15.00 by contacting the PA Office at 916.983-4715
or you may download an application on-line from www.pausatf.org. Memberships
will also be on sale the day ofthe meet with updated membership lists to
check membership status.
Entry Fee: preregistration $7.00 per event if entry is postmarked by
Saturday, 22 May, l999, with fees payable to M.A.C. Meet day registration -
$10.00 per event. The late entry deadline is 30 minutes prior to the scheduled
event time...no exceptions. Meet day registation will be processed from the
press box in the west stands - section 'C'.

date.
Pacific Association Grand Prix: Earn double points towards monies being
awarded by the Pacific Association Open T&F Committee; To register, you must
be a Pacific Association resident and current PAUSTF member. The Pacific
Association Grand Prix is a foru-meet format series, culminating with these
Association Championships. $15,000.00 provided by the Series Sponsor: Shooting
Star Publications, will be awarded to the association's top twelve men and
twelve women utilizing the Mercier International Scoring Table. Contact Open

Championships Awards: First place: attractive USATF Championship t-shirts.
Second and third places: USATF Championship medals.
Event check-in: Registered track contestants check-in with the clerk at the
starting line 15 minutes prior to the event starting time. Registered field
contestants check-in directly at the event site.
Heats/Flight Organization: All running events will be run as finals only
with seeding based on submitted marks. Field event contestants will have
three initial efforts with the top six contestants receiving three additional
attempts.
Concessions: Souvenir USATF t-shirts will be availabte for $12.00 each from
the concession stand and 'Omnilite' ceramic spikes will also be on sale for
8.00 for a bag of twenty.
Directions: Modesto JC Stadium is located 95 miles directly east from San
Francisco in the northern Joaquin Valley. From Hwy. 99, exit at Kansas Ave.
and travel east, following signs to the MJC East Campus at the corner of Tully
Road and Coldwell.
