Association Youth Track and Field Championship Meet. The competition will be held Saturday and
Sunday June 10th and 11th at

Our very own Charlie
Sheppard is the author of the Club Manager track team
organizer program. We are using this new
computer program to submit all entries for the PAC, JO and Subbantam
championship meets starting this year.
Please contact Joanne Slaton-Camargo if you did not participate at any
of the previously scheduled training sessions for Club Manager earlier this
year. You will then receive a copy of
the program via email. Refer to the
instructional word document included to help you get started using this simple
program. All entries to our above
mentioned championship meets MUST be
submitted via email using Club Manager.
When you receive your copy of the program, included you will also
receive contact information for Charlie Sheppard. If you have any questions regarding the use
of Club Manager, he will be more than happy to help you.

As members of the Youth
Committee we are again putting forth a group effort to host a series of five
youth championship meets this year. They
consist of the PAC Championships at

Entries – The deadline for receipt of entries via email is

on the “Youth” section under “Club Manager”. Your 4-digit code is located
there. Example: 3M Track Club = 3MTC;
Three
events maximum for Subbantams, Bantams and Midgets; four events maximum for
Youth, Intermediates and Young Men/Women. A
relay is an event. Only registered
PA/USATF clubs can enter a relay team.
Unattached athletes cannot run relays.
Entry fee per
athlete is $6.00 per event and must be received no later than

USATF and birth verification: If you need
a USATF number for your athlete(s), contact the Pacific Association office
immediately to get that taken care of in time to meet the entry deadline or for
faster results register online at www.pausatf.org,
click “Join Now” and follow the directions.
A copy of the birth
certificate for each athlete is needed if not already verified via Tony
Williams from last year’s 2005
season. All birth certificates from last
year are still on record and
verified. You will not need to submit another birth certificate if you have
previously done so for an athlete.

Implements – Field event implements
except javelins and pole vault poles, will be supplied
by meet management if necessary.
Personal implements must be passed by our Weights & Measures
official. All implements must be checked
between
Spike Length – Maximum
3/16"
pyramid spikes on all synthetic rubber surfaces. Athletes that do not have the proper spikes
will be asked to obtain the correct spikes or they will not be allowed to
compete.
Bib Numbers & Hip Numbers – Bib numbers will be
distributed at packet pick-up. All athletes must have a bib number assigned to them in order to
compete. Any lost or forgotten bib numbers will result in a $5.00 replacement
fee. Additionally, in the track events, all athletes will be assigned a hip
number when they check in with the clerk for the final seeding.
Starting Heights - The starting height for the
high jump and the pole vault will be per USATF rule 242.5(k). Incremental increases will be 5cm in the high
jump and 15cm in the pole vault.
Protest Table - All protests must be
submitted in writing within thirty (30) minutes after the results on an event are
posted per rule 73. This time period
will be strictly enforced. There will be
a $50.00 cash submission fee required to file a protest. This fee will be refunded only if the protest
is upheld. Only violations of the USATF
2006 Rules of Competition may be protested.
Judgment calls made by meet officials cannot be protested. Protests that do not meet the above criteria
will not be accepted. The location of
the protest table will be announced.
Awards - Awards will be available for
pick by the coaches or athletes at the Awards table one hour after the results
have been posted. Medals are awarded to the top six places in each event
Medical Services & Security -
There
will be a doctor or other qualified personnel available at all sessions of the
championships. Additional medical
facilities are within minutes of the stadium and the local Fire Department and
Rescue Unit is located minutes from the stadium.
Stadium Rules:
TENTS: Allowed on the top row of the bleachers only
but cannot block the announcer’s area.
Tents must be broken down and removed from the stadium at the completion
of competition each day.
ALCOHOL: There is no alcohol permitted on school
grounds.
SMOKING : The school is a SMOKE FREE ZONE. There is no smoking allowed inside or
immediately outside the stadium.
COOLERS: Permitted inside
the stadium; however, GLASS CONTAINERS in the coolers ARE NOT PERMITTED. Coolers will be checked at the gate. Please remove any alcohol, tobacco or glass
before entering the stadium.
Admission – Spectators admitted free
Parking - There will be FREE PARKING available at and around
the competition site. DO NOT PARK IN THE LIBRARY PARKING LOT ACROSS THE
STREET FROM THE SCHOOL; YOU WILL BE TICKETED AND TOWED. OVERFLOW PARKING IS LOCATED AT THE ALBERTSON
STORE PARKING LOT DOWN THE STREET.
Food Services – Food and beverages will be
sold throughout the meet. You may bring your
own food and drink into the stadium but you may not bring in glass
containers. When you leave, you must
remove anything you brought in with you.
For your convenience, plastic garbage bags and garbage cans will be
available throughout the facility for garbage disposal.

GUIDELINES FOR P.A. YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS
1. All athletes must be
registered members of USA Track & Field in order to enter the meet. The
deadline to enter the meet is emailed by Thursday, June 1st. Please contact the Pacific Association office
or register online in order to get your athletes registered immediately. THERE
WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE.
2. Entry fees must be sent to Mike Hammerquist by regular mail and received
by the cut-off date of Monday, June 5th. Entry fee payment must be by money order, or
cashier’s check made
out to "Pacific Association / USATF."
No personal checks, second/third party checks will be accepted.
3. Three events maximum for Subbantams, Bantams
and Midgets; four events maximum for Youth, Intermediates and Young

4. If the club wants a receipt of payment from Mike Hammerquist, a self
addressed, stamped envelope must accompany the payment. Meet management will
not accept responsibility for lost/late/misdirected mail.
5. It is the responsibility of the athlete/team to check in within 5
minutes after the final call for their event. Athletes/teams not checked in by
that time will not be allowed to compete.
6. All athletes must have bib numbers and hip numbers to compete. Any
lost/forgotten bib numbers will be replaced for a $5.00 processing fee.
7. All USATF Youth rules will be enforced, along with the Youth By-laws
that would apply.
8. Only those athletes competing in their event will be allowed on the
field. Coaches and Parents/spectators will not be allowed on the field. Any
coach or parent in the infield will result in the immediate disqualification of
their athlete/team and an automatic grievance will be filed for suspension of
30 days.
9. Spikes will be checked at all venues. Only 3/16 inch pyramid spikes
will be allowed. They will be on sale at
the registration table if needed.
10. Security personnel and qualified medical staff will be on site.
11. The team area must be cleaned up by each team before leaving the
site. Plastic garbage bags will be
provided at various locations for this purpose.
12. A Protest Table will be on site. A $50.00 filing fee must accompany
any protest, with the fee being returned if the protest is upheld. If the
protest is denied, the fee will become the property of the Youth Committee of
the Pacific Association.
