Advanced Coaching Summits

Features several of the top coaches and personalities from the world of distance running who will
answer questions in a round robin format.

Steve Scott: US Mile Record Holder at 3:47.69 and has broken 4 minutes in the mile 136 times.
One of the greatest milers in American History. Current coach at Cal State University San Marcos.
Dr Armando Siqueiros. Former 29:12 10k runner and past winner of the Wharf to Wharf race,
Currently coaches at Mission Prep High School in San Luis Obispo and is coach of defending
Footlocker National Champion Jordan Hasay.
Jim Spivey: Former Women�s head coach at Vanderbuilt University. Former sub 3:50 miler and
1987 World Championships bronze medalist. Also holds the US record for 2,000m.
Dr Joe Vigil. Legendary distance running personality, coach and clinician. Served as 1988 US
Olympic Coach, former coach of multiple national champions Adams State College as well as serving
on multiple US World Cross Country teams as Head Coach. Vigil gained additional accolades as
coach of Deena Kastor, 2004 Olympic Marathon Bronze medalist.
Mike Fanelli: Mike serves as emcee of the event. Outstanding moderator who possesses a wealth
of information on the history of competitive distance running as well as the physiology of training.
Mike is entertaining and knowledgeable.
Cost: Absolutely FREE. This is a Christmas present from Asics, the Pacific Association, the Cal Coaches
Alliance, American Track and Field, Cliff Bar, Pacific Coast Sportswear and Running Warehouse
