TREASURER'S REPORT
- Approved unanimously the 2005 report
- Approved unanimously the 2006 accrual report

BACKGROUND CHECKS
- Phil Watkins not present (had a track meet conflict) but reported that a finger print check is the best option.
- How extensive should check be: county? state? national?
- Possible to do our own fingerprinting then send them to be put on file; could be a little as $10 per check for national level. Might need to hire someone to do this.
- Info on costs needed for 2007 budget.
- Badges need to be made; Charlie Shepard has a program for doing this.

2006 NCAA T&F CHAMPIONSHIPS June 7-10
- Live Friday/Sat. broadcasts
- All good to go.
- CSUS construction will make for a challenge in 2007, although actual construction will be halted during the meet.

GOLDEN WEST INVITATIONAL - Good to go (June 11)
- Hammer cage stolen for scrap metal; new one purchased.

2006 CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS - GG Park, San Francisco
- Co-Director Peanut Harms reported
- Sponsors: Asics, Pacific Coast Sportswear, Disney, Balerga socks, AT&F Magazine, Clif
- Parking to be at speedway.
- Party at Fisherman s Wharf
- Anticipating 2500
- International Distance Coaches Clinic on Thurs./Fri. with Asics sponsored athletes; funding assistance to do this from the PA strategic plan budget?

2007 2009 CIF XC Championships
- Fresno is giving it up and Northern CA is possible new venue
- Need $20,000, a meet director ($1500) and an acceptable course.
- Three entities interested: Placer Co. Tourism (no course); Sacramento Sports Commission (Granite Regional Park); Folsom (350 acres on South side of Hwy 50 but might be too slow to get it done).
- Other possibilities: De La Salle, San Mateo
- Fred Baer: possible Fox broadcast media add-on

2007 2008 INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
- Indoor track construction no new info.
- UNR might have track; this might work against PA involvement.

STRATEGIC PLAN
- Elite Athlete Support
o Lee Davenport/James Logan HS T&F Clinic: have the PA support a seminar about post HS/collegiate athletes transitioning into elite athlete status
o Twitchell Island Field Athlete Project: Del Valle Homes owners/philanthropists are building a field events center in the Sacramento Delta that will house/support 25 field athletes (training, meets, research, medical, organic farm); ready by August; Suzy Powell in charge of athlete recruiting.
- Resources: Board approved George Kleeman s plan to recruit more governance people, officials, coaches; plan needs someone to take charge.
- Youth Publicist Vicky Boyd hired and is providing material for web site.
- Motion passed: Marketing Committee Chair and PA Athlete Development Coordinator are two positions already in place and described in by-laws. Unanimously approved to post vacancies on web site.
- Motion passed: $1500 approved to assist with having a seminar at the James Logan T&F Clinic that will discuss HS/collegiate athletes transitioning into elite athlete status. Stephanie Brown will work with Lee Webb to get this done.
- Motion passed: $1500 approved to assist with speakers at the International Distance Coaches Clinic to be held at the XC Nationals.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
- Membership report by Irene Herman
- Youth Committee by Joanne Camargo: PA Championships will be held at Pinole.
- Officals by Dick Connors: at the NCAA T&F meet over 60% of the officials are from the PA.
- Open T&F by Fred Baer: Championships on Sunday, May 28 at College of San Mateo; athletes register through directathletics.com; good publicity due to opening of new CSM facility; could use more women athletes.
- Masters T&F by Mary Woo: PA Championships set for July 1; Ron Richardson and Rich Anderson are the meet directors; register o-line at DirectAthletics.com; $25 for the first event, then $5; $30 for relay. Starter is Joe Harper; extensive email was sent out.
- PA Hall of Fame by George Kleeman check criteria and send feedback to George by September 1.

NEW BUSINESS
- Meets that are poorly run will cause a loss of members to AAU
- AAU has a 3-year national level meet at Davis
- Need to have quality meets to keep our members
