Updates/Announcements:

-- Top international fields committed for elite men's and women's races
(a dozen sub-14:00 men and half a dozen sub-16:00 women are entered to
date)

-- DOUBLE POINTS Grand Prix race (last race on the short season circuit)
for PA/USATF Open Men

--$500 non-Grand Prix dedicated prize purse for PA/USATF OPEN WOMEN added
to total $22,000-plus prize purse (see breakdown below)

-- Comp entries extended to PA/USATF women

-- New Seagate Elite 5K course - Flat and fast, spectator friendly
3/4-mile loop in downtown San Jose (Start/Finish at Confluence Park/HP
Pavilion). Run the loop four times plus 1/10th mile. Separate Seagate
Elite 5K races for elite men and elite women. (The PA/USATF Open Men's
Championship is conducted in conjunction with the elite men's race.)

-- Slight starting time changes. New start times:

PA/USATF Open Women Comp Entries Offered

In a special offer for PA/USATF women, the following female athletes are
eligible for comp entry:

-- 2006 SHORT ROAD GRAND PRIX: Open women who are currently in the top 10
in the standings. Master women who are in the top five of the standings.

-- 2006 CROSS COUNTRY GRAND PRIX: Top 10 open women and top five masters
women in the standings following scoring of the Fleet Feet XC race.

-- 2006 LONG ROAD GRAND PRIX: Provisional comp entry on a space available
basis to the top 10 open women and top five masters women in the
standings following the Humboldt Half Marathon.

Of course, all PA/USATF athletes are invited to run in the non-elite
5K/10K races, and bring the family for the 5K walk and the "Tot Trot"
fun run. Fun for the whole family, kids aged 2 - 9 can have fun in the
"Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Kids Fun Run." The Applied Materials
Silicon Valley Turkey Trot is a benefit event for the Children's Health
Initiative, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo
Counties, and the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County.
