Top vaulters enter Coca-Cola Modesto Relays
Three Olympians who have all cleared the six-meter barrier in the pole
vault have signed on to compete May 6 at the 65th Coca-Cola Modesto
Relays in Modesto California.
Defending Champion and Olympic silver medalist Toby Stevenson, who has a
personal best of 6.00 meters/19 feet, 8.25 inches set in Modesto in 2004
will face Olympic gold medalist, Tim Mack who has a personal best of
6.01m/19 feet, 8.50 inches and 2003 World Indoor and Modesto champion,
Tim Lobinger of Germany with a personal best of 6.00m/19 feet, 8.25
inches.
They will face 2003 USA Indoor Champion and Olympic finalist Derek
Miles, 2003 World Championships bronze medalist, Patrik Kristiansson of
Sweden, 2001 World Indoor silver medalist Tye Harvey, Mexico's record
holder Giovanni Lanaro and former U.S. World Championships team member
Russ Buller.
In women's competition, 2005 USA Indoor champion, Jenn Stuczynski will
make her first appearance in Modesto. She became the #2 American all
time behind Stacy Dragila, with a clearance of 15-4 1/4 (4.68 m).
Canadian record holder, Dana Ellis-Buller will also compete.
