YOUTH  DIVISION

 

·        The Youth Division Competition in The Run for the Dream Indoor Meet is open to athletes through Junior High age that live as far south as Kern County, as far north as Modesto along the Freeway 99 corridor, the Central Coast, and parts of the Bay Area –( Pacific Association.)

·        All ages will compete together as one – there will be no separate age group competition. Only the top finishers in each event (for boys and girls) will qualify to advance to the Indoor Meet.

·        Four events will be run in the youth division - a 55 meter sprint, 55 meter hurdles, 800 meter run, and a 4 X 160 meter relay.

·        There will be one qualifying meet to be held in each area – Fresno, Modesto, Bakersfield and Northern California - in mid December or early January. The venue, dates and any associated fees are being finalized at this time and will be posted on the website at www.fresnoindoormeet.com, as soon as available.

·        6 athletes in each area in the 55m sprint will advance

·        5 athletes in each area in the 55m hurdles will advance

·        4 athletes in each area in the 800m will advance

·        2  4 X 160 relay teams from each area will advance

·        The 55m sprint and the 55m hurdles will have prelims on the morning of the indoor meet with the finals being run in the late afternoon and evening (top 6 and 5 will advance). The 800m and the relays will run as finals. Tentative schedule attached.

·        Hurdles will be set at Youth heights – 30” for the girls and 33” for the boys.
