Dear Race Director:
For the fifth year in a row, USA Track & Field (USATF) is researching the
financial impact that road running and walking events have on charitable
organizations. In past years, The J.P. Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge
Series, The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon, Boston Marathon, and Marine Corps
Marathon have been honored as the charitable races of the year, and the
amount of total charitable giving reported was $656 million in 2005.
This figure shows a 14% increase over 2004 and is the biggest single-year
increase since USATF began its annual charity survey in 2002.
In order to highlight the success of the road running/walking community
once again, we ask that you take a few moments to complete a brief survey
about your race and its charitable component in 2006. We encourage you to
complete this survey even if your event did not have a charitable component.
The result of the study will be released to the media, and the release
will recognize the substantial charitable impact of road racing and increase
the awareness of your event, your cause, and your successes.
Please click on the link below to access the survey. We ask that you
complete the survey no later than Wednesday, September 26, 2007.
If you have any questions regarding the survey, please contact
Miki Sato
of USATF directly at [email protected].
Thank you for your participation.
