Free Youth Clinic - Sunday April 29

Before the Payton Jordan Invitational T & F Invitational at

Cobb Track and Angell Field, Stanford, CA


Dear Bay Area supporter of youth fitness and sports,

Next Sunday, April 29, 12:30-2:15 p.m. at Stanford's Cobb Track and Angell Field there will be an outstanding track and field clinic for boys and girls kindergarden through 8th grade.  It will take place prior to the renowned Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational Track and Field Meet.  There is no cost for the clinic. Younger children needing supervision must be accompanied by an adult. Youngsters attending the clinic can attend the meet for free.  Youngsters wanting more strength, dexterity and quickness for their sports in general will be welcome.

Introducing the clinic will be Edrick Floreal, the Pitch Johnson Director of Track and Field at Stanford University.  Leading the clinic will be Joy Upshaw Margerum, Founder and Head Coach of the Jack Rabbits Track Club, and U.S. Masters champion.  Clinic instructors include Olympians LaVonna Martin Floreal, Phil McMullen, Patti Sue Plummer, Dave Popejoy, Sue Rembao, and Toby Stevenson.  Running, hurdling, jumping and throwing events will be covered.  Registration begins at 12:30 and the clinic begins at 1:00.  The schedule of the meet which follows the clinic can be found at
