Pacific Association LDR Officials and Officials Friends of LDR:
April 15, 2008. The 2008 PA/USATF Road Grand Prix is underway. This e-mail is a second invitation for you to volunteer at our fine road championships on the circuit. These events, some of which have served the Association for years as championships, have generously stepped up to the plate. They offer prize money and complimentary entries to our top athletes in order to be on the circuit and provide top-notch competition. We owe these events and our athletes knowledgeable officials to oversee the competition. That's where you come in.
Many of these events have no assigned officials, as yet, due to a lack of volunteers. And, all of them can use additional officials (Referee, Judges, Umpires, Starters).
We'd love to see MORE of our LDR officials volunteering their service.
You don't have to be an LDR officiating veteran. We can provide you with "on the job training" and one-on-one "tutoring" with our experienced officials to build your confidence and skills.
Please take a moment to look at the road championship/Grand Prix Championship below, and let me know if you're able to donate your valuable time and expertise at any of these first class road races.
Also, if you'd like to serve on a standby Jury of Appeal for the entire season (to be called upon as needed), I'd like to know.
