USATF wanted to take this opportunity to remind all clubs about two important deadlines (both of which are May 1).
Club Membership Submission Deadline May 1
Competitive member clubs (clubs that have athletes who represent the club in competitions) that are planning to renew their USATF club membership for 2008 must submit their club applications to their local Association on or before May 1st in order to avoid a “late submission” fee of $100.00. This “late” fee is in addition of the regular club membership fee.
USATF instituted this late fee to ensure that meet administrators, during the busy spring/summer track season, have the ability to verify athlete affiliations so the meets are conducted properly and efficiently according to USATF rules and regulations.
Clubs may check their current status at www.usatf.org/clubs/search <http://www.usatf.org/clubs/search> . If your club is listed in the “Current Member Clubs” section then your club is renewed for 2008. If your club is not listed in this section then either; 1) your club has recently submitted its club application and USATF’s database has not yet been updated, or 2) your club has not yet submitted its club membership application for 2008.
Club membership applications can be found online at http://www.usatf.org/clubs/application/download/ <http://www.usatf.org/clubs/application/download/>
Mark Springer Travel Grant Deadline May 1
The application deadline for the 2008 Mark Springer Youth Travel Grant is May 1, 2008. If your club is in need of financial assistance for travel expenses to one of the four USATF National Youth/Junior Championships this year, we encourage you apply for one of the available grants. There is a total of $50,000 in grants available.
More information on the Mark Springer Travel Grant program and the grant application can be found on the USATF website atwww.usatf.org/clubs/benefits/travelGrants/ <http://www.usatf.org/clubs/benefits/travelGrants/>
