Phoenix Arizona home of the Pacific Association for a Weekend
  PHOENIX - The 44th annual Phoenix Invitational was home to the Pacific Association over the weekend as some of its finest athletes highlighted the meet in an early season test with some of the best in the country.

Opening up the weekend on a fast note was 3M's Bantam girls Jowhari Hill and Sarahvaughn King going 2 and 3 in the bantam girls 100 meter finals. Both meet the National qualifying standard crossing the line in 13.83 and 13.84. Teammate Nyela Cade followed up behind the duo by taking first in 200m with a winning time of 29.12.

3M bantam girls also swept the relays. The quartet, comprised of Jowhari Hill 9, Nyela Jones 9, Sarahvaughn King 8, Aniyah Mcwoodson 9, combined to a time of 55.85 breaking the Arizona Associations Record.

Alexandra Diaz of LSI Sprint got off to a smooth start in the Youth Girls 200m with a personal best of 25.79. Diaz then took home the bronze in the youth 100 crossing the line in an automatic time of 12.81.

Teammates Cydney Leath and Gianna Hatchett also posted solid times of 27.02 and 27.16 in the 200 meters. Leath also placed 7th respectively, in the youth girls 100 meters in 12.94 while Gianna ran to a personal best of 13.46 in the 100 prelims.

Some other girls highlights included Nijae Jones and Spencer Moore of 3M in the Youth Girls 1500 meter run. Jones paced the field in Sunday�s 1500, running 5:07.45 to win with Moore a close second at 5:10.27. Spencer Moore also took silver in the 3000 meter run in 11:05.95.

Sasha wallace also got off on the right foot, with an automatic qualifying marks with her triple jump of 30-02ft. After grabbing fourth in the 100 hurdles, Wallace came back to post a personal-best time of 28.29 in the 200 hurdles.

Outstanding performances on the boys side included;

Bryan Morris of 3M double in the Bantam Boys 400 and 800 meter runs. While Teammates Otis Statum double his silver in the Shot Put and Javelin Throw and Armand Shyne continued to dominate the midget boys Javelin with a throw of 43.61mA and Breaking the Arizona Association Record.

Bryant Cananda of LSI upset the rest of the field in the midget 200 meter prelims as he clocked 26.75. Meanwhile, Teammate Cameron Meszaros claimed his heat in the midget boys 400 meters in 1:02. Malik Egberuare, also of LSI recorded a season best in the midget boys 800 in a time of 2:29.95. Egberuare also anchored LSI's midget boys 4x100 relay. The quartet of Cameron Meszaros, Bryant Canada, Tyson Hill and Malik Egberuare took the stick around in style by going automatic in the 4x100 meter relay with their time of 53.17 putting them at the top of the leaders list in the Pacific Association.

But perhaps the most exciting highlight of the meet went to LSI's Tyson Hill. Hill did not disappoint by winning the Gold in the midget boys 80 meter hurdles as he clocked 13.19. It was a close race between Hill and Isaiah Oliver of Arizona Panthers as the two ran neck and neck over the 8th hurdle. The victory went to Hill as his top mark places him at #1 of the Elite Youth National Ranking performance list.
