America's "sprint" race walkers took to the track tonight (Friday) to vie for national titles at the 1 mile distance in races held as part of the 102nd Millrose Games, at New York City's Madison Square Garden. Pacific Association's Tyler Sorensen began the indoor season today finishing 4th place with a time of 6.37.44. Despite the fact that Tyler was the youngest competitor in the field, he had 8 other men finish behind him. Be sure and watch the progress of this young man as he continues to be one of the top junior race walk athletes in the country.
Tim Seaman, 2-time Olympian and past title holder of this race; once again retained his title and won the race with a 6.02.58. Tim will be in Santa Cruz next week, along with Jeff Salvage (author of many books and racewalk.com) to give a weekend race walk clinic for all ages. The Pacific Association continues to strive to bring outstanding opportunities to help this sport grow.
