The Association of Road Race Statisticians ranked the elite men's race at the 2010 Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot as the third most competitive 5K in the WORLD last year. Non-U.S. athletes must currently have a U.S. visa to be invited.

Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot
Run/Walk for Health, Hope, and a Home
November 24, 2011 (Thanksgiving)
Applied Materials, in partnership with the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, The City of San Jose, the County of Santa Clara, and Central Labor Council, present a 5K and 10K family fun event on Thanksgiving Day. The event benefits three local charities (Santa Clara County Children's Health Initiative, Second Harvest Food Bank, and the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County). Now in its seventh year, the event will have raised more than $2 million for these charities by the conclusion of this year's race. Approximately 17,000 race participants are expected in 2011.
