Home Contacts 2012 Pacific Association Elite Training Grants have been awarded! The Pacific Association would like to thank the Grant Committee for taking the time and effort in collaborating and evaluating all the grant applications. The committee is made up of Stephanie Trafton-Brown (Olympic Gold Medalist in the Discus in 2008 and PA/USATF Elite Athlete's Representative), Fred Baer (PA/USATF Women's Track & Field Chair) and T&F Grand Prix prize money coordinator and Al Hernandez, (2011 PA/USATF Men's Track and Field Chair). According to Stephanie, "Athletes are awarded funds based on the standards they achieved in the 24 months prior according to the standards. Athletes who did not achieve a standard or have recent injury that prevents them from competing this year were awarded a limited grant to continue to assist them in their efforts to better their marks. We want to reward our top athletes for their success as well as continue to support our young athletes who have potential to become tomorrow's stars!" The total amount of grant money awarded is $12,800. The grant recipients will be featured in our print and online magazine and website pages, and we hope they have the best performance possible at this year's Pacific Association T&F Championships (May 27, San Mateo), as well as at the Olympic Trials in June. Thank you to all who have donated time and effort to make this program possible for our Pacific Association Olympic hopefuls. Athletes: make sure you enroll in the 2012 Pacific Association Track & Field Grand Prix prize money circuit and continue to support our programs.
The Pacific Association supports our athletes! Irene Herman, Pacific Association President
