    2007 Mark Springer Youth Travel Grant Recipients Announced

INDIANAPOLIS - USATF, in partnership with the USA Track & Field
Foundation, announced Thursday the recipients of the 2007 Mark Springer
Youth Travel Grant Program. Named after the former USATF Director of
Grass Roots Programs and Planning and originator of the program, the
Mark Springer Youth Travel Grant Program offers travel assistance grants
to eligible USATF youth clubs across the country. Since the program's
inception in 2000, over $180,000 has been awarded to more than 200
clubs.

Club recipients also participate in USATF's Be A Champion program and
commit to leading an active, healthy, and drug-free lifestyle as part of
their award. Forty-eight clubs were awarded $1,000 grants to be used in
conjunction with one of the following 2007 national championships:

USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships - Indianapolis, IN

USA Youth Outdoor Track & Field Championships - Lisle, IL

USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships - Walnut, CA

USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships - Lawrence, KS
