In c/o Coach Burnet Lux - Family Relief Efforts Needed
"On Friday, June 18, 2010 at 5:45 PM, units of the San Jose Fire Department responded to reports of fire in a single family dwelling at 841 Lewiston Road on the city's south side. Arriving firefighters were confronted with a blaze that had started in the home's kitchen, then quickly extended into the attic, and burned its way through the shake roof." Luckily, all the members of the family, who were at home at the time, made it out safely. Unfortunately, ALL of their personal possessions were destroyed by water and smoke. Now, Burnet and Sarah Lux are left, with no resources, to pick up the pieces and to rebuild home and a sense of safety and security for their three youngest children: Blajohn, age 14; Nina, age 11, and Braylin, age 9. Due to a back injury and a medical mishap, Sarah is disabled and unable to work, and Brunet just recently found employment after being unemployed for over a year. Despite the unfortunate times, this family remains positive and giving. Brunet Lux continuously dedicates himself to the children of his community. He is the head coach of Umoja Track Club which he founded in 2001. In fact, his devotion to his athletes is so great that the morning after the fire he attended the Nor Cal Hershey State Meet, not wanting to disappoint his runners by not attending. Now at his greatest time of need, I am hoping that the community can give back to him and his family. The last couple of years have been very trying for them, and they certainly deserve support at this hour of need. Please join us. Together, we can help The Lux family get back on track.
