Course Description
Beautiful loop course. Start/Finish at upper meadow above UCSC Firestation. Course consists of rolling dirt trails on fireroads through redwood trees and meadows.
One of the best in the series. Beautiful course. Ugly start. Winding trails (dirt, crushed rock, rocky dirt, no pavement). Challenging hills. Past lakes. Through the woods. Dam finish.
Standard Golden Gate loop course. Beautiful meadows, eucalyptus-lined trails, with varied terrain. Paved bike path eliminated; Spikes permitted.
Very hilly mix of grass, dirt, sand, and pavement (no spikes). Start/finish on Paul Goode Field just North and below Julius Kahn Playground. Same course as 2002.
Dirt roads, rolling hils, oak trees. Similar terrain to past Sierra College course.
The course circles around the hill at Shoreline park and loops the golf course. 80% dirt trails and 20% paved trail (no spikes). Same course as 2003.
Start is wide open on paved road. 3.5 miles of dirt trails. Some hills. Same course as 2003.
Start is wide open grass. Mostly dirt trails.
Very challenging and fabled course close to the hearts of a true harrier. Former site of US Nationals, Jr. Olympics, and World XC Trials. Same course as 2002 and years prior.
Standard Golden Gate loop course used for the last 16 years. Beautiful meadows, eucalyptus-lined trails, with varied terrain. Paved bike path eliminated; Lindley Meadow will have hay bales. Spikes permitted. Same course as 2002.
Directions
Take Hwy 17 from San Jose to Santa Cruz, Hwy 1 North to Half Moon Bay, turn right 7/10 mile on Bay Street. Proceed up to the UCSC Main Entrance at the corner of High & Bay Street, go straight into campus. Go up 1/3 mile, turn left on Hagar Drive, go past Field House. Left on McLaughlin Drive. Right on Chinquapin Rd. Right into the Crown College Parking Lot just before the firehouse.
Hwy 101 (north), exit Central Windsor, east. Right on Old Redwood Hwy 0.6 miles to Hembree; Left on Hembree, 1.25 miles to park entrance. Park on street.
Drive to GG Park at 30th Avenue and JFK Drive. Lindley Meadow is North of Polo Fields and one block South of Fulton Avenue, which runs along the North edge of the park.
From North, take 101 South. Coming off Golden Gate Bridge, take Hwy 1 South (a.k.a. 19th Ave.). There are no left turns allowed, so make a right on Lake St., an immediate left, and another left, which puts you on California headed east. Go about 12 blocks and turn left onto Arguello. Finally, turn right onto W. Pacific as you enter the park.. From South, take 280N to Hwy. 1 North (a.k.a. 19th Ave.) for 6 miles through GG Park. Make right onto California, left onto Arguello, and then enter into Presidio through gate and make immediate right onto W. Pacific. Course is to the left.
1) Take Hwy 50 East out of Sacramento
2) Once near Folsom, take the Prairie City Rd. exit. It is after the Folsom Blvd. exit.
3) Go back across Hwy 50 north on Prairie City Rd.
4) Take the first right turn onto Iron Point Rd.
5) Take the next right at Folsom HS and stay to the left to go to the Willow Hill XC Course parking area.
Exit Hwy. 101 at Amphitheater Pkwy. From North, take right onto Amphitheater Pkwy. at 1st light and head over Hwy 101 OR from South, merge onto Amphitheater Pkwy. Once on Amphitheater, go straight through light at Charleston Rd. At about 0.5 miles, turn right into Google parking lot. Course is across the street.
Exit Hwy 101 to North San Pedro exit (Civic Center). Do NOT exit at San Rafael. Go east on N San Pedro for about 2.5 miles to Back Ranch Meadow. Must park outside of entrance on east side of San Pedro Rd. or road leading to entrance.
I-50 East of Sacramento. Exit Watt Avenue, North. Right on Fair Oaks Blvd. Right on El Camino. Left on California. Right into Ancil Hoffman Park.
Take Hwy. 280 to 92 East or Hwy 101 to 92 West; exit Hwy. 92 at Ralston Ave. just East of Hwy 280. At stop light at end of off-ramp, take left onto Ralston. Drive 0.5 miles and take a right on Hallmark Dr. (South). Follow posted signs on Hallmark for about a mile. Park entrance on right.

This year’s race will offer merchandise awards and emphasize team competition.
Race is a dedication to Phil Widener. Ample street parking available.
Ample parking on JFK Drive near 30th Ave. Park on either side. Some picnic tables available on a first come, first serve basis.
Parking available on W. Pacific by playground or at Inspiration Point on Arguello.
T-Shirts to division winners. Showers and lockers available. Bring towel.
Glass mugs to all participants. This race is a memorial to John Lawson, a Tamalpa Runner who, at 44, died suddenly of a heart attack in 2000.
Please be aware that Ancil Hoffman Park has a $4.00 per vehicle honor system parking fee. If you choose not to pay for parking you are responsible for all penalties.
Please be aware of driveways when parking in the neighborhood. No Dogs, No Bikes, No Smoking
