Jennifer Bayliss (Impala RT) not only won the F45 division at the USATF Masters 10K Championships, hosted by the James Joyce Ramble, but was the overall female winner in a time of 37:19. Bayliss’ margin of victory was an impressive 39 secs. It was a good payday for Jennifer as she took home $300 as the top Master, $100 for her division win and $100 for her 7th place in the Women’s Age-Graded category (88.72%). For the second year in a row, Neville Davey of the West Valley Track Club, has taken top honors in the Masters heat of the Carlsbad 5000. In his win Sunday morning, Davey duplicated his 15:20 winning time from 2017 to beat Gregory Mitchell by a full 10 secs. Last December, Davey won the Masters Men’s heat of the USATF Club XC Championships. Looks like he picked up right where he left off – 1st place. USATF is happy to announce the Mark Springer Travel Grant Program for the 2018 season. This program has awarded over $650,000 to more than 450 youth clubs over the past 18 years. These funds are awarded for travel expenses associated with the USATF Youth and National Junior Olympic Championships in an effort to allow young athletes the opportunity to compete amongst the best in our sport.
