Sergio Reyes, the USATF 2022 Masters Road Runner of the Year in the Men’s 40-44 division, brought his 2022 fitness into 2023 with a dominate victory in the Carlsbad 5000 Masters race with a time of 14:48. Reyes, of Palmdale CA, finished 24 seconds ahead of last year’s winner, Roosevelt Cook of Hesperia, CA, who finished in a time of 15:12.
