National Youth Junior Olympic Champs officiating application closes Saturday, 30 April...don’t miss out on this opportunity to officiate at a national meet in our backyard!

The National Youth Junior Championships are coming back to Sacramento State 25-31 July, 2022, and we’re looking for Officials of all levels of officials from Master to Apprentice.

Non-local officials will be housed in Sacramento State’s new Student Suites, and will be provided three meals a day; meet gear, and a small stipend TBA.  This is an excellent way to work a national championships event while getting to know officials from all around the country.

Mark Conover: 1960-2022. This USATF Pacific elite distance runner and life-long Aggies member placed 2nd at the stormy 1987 California International Marathon, and went on to win the 1988 Olympic Marathon Trials to become a Team USA Olympian at the Seoul Olympics, and to achieve NCAA D2 Champion status. RR PA Runners shine at 10 Mile Masters Championships

Posted by on Apr 5, 2022 in Masters LDR, pausatf, Road Racing | 0 comments

Sunday’s SACTOWN Run was the host for the 2022 USATF Masters 10 Mile championships (the first Masters road championships in the PA since 2007) and PA Masters runners took advantage of the opportunity by turning out in numbers, running very fast times, and bringing home lots of bling.
The PA stars who shone the brightest were Jenny Hitchings and Jacob Nur both representing Sacramento’s SRA Elite.

Hitchings took down her existing 10 Mile F55-59 AR (1:01:15) with a smoking 1:00:38 (chip time) for an age grade of 100.88%, the highest female age grade in the history of the PA Road GP!
Nur, who has been on fire the last six months, went under the PA’s Brian Pilcher’s ratified 10 Mile M65-69 AR of 59:42 and his own pending M65-69 AR of 59:11 (NorCal 10) with an amazing 58:34 (chip) for an age grade of 97.25%. The highest male age grade ever in a PA Road GP event!

Hitchings and Nur weren’t the only PA Masters to shine Sunday. HOKA Aggies’ Sergio Reyes was 2nd overall with a 50:36 and West Valley TC’s Peter Gilmore took 4th place overall in 52:47

In team scoring, West Valley Track Club won two golds and SRA Elite and Lake Merritt Joggers and Striders each won one.
